Travel and Exploration

I like photography trips and workshops.  This trip was way more than photography.  Spending time with the Nomads of Mongolia, walking the three day animal migration at almost 13 miles per day over very rough terrain and mountains was a challenge. It was also very noisy - 500 animals make a lot of sounds!  Living without electricity or running water for 14 days gave me a new appreciation for these things.  At the end of the day, what I will remember most are the friends I made traveling and the friendly and welcoming families of Mongolia. As a portrait photographer, the colors, the textures the faces were al so beautiful to me.   Enjoy the photos. (note - sadly, I had a photographic / electronic failure on this trip.  Many of my photos were corrupted or lost). It's humbling as a professional to have this happen.  I believed I had all the right systems in place to have redundant files, etc. But atlas, it can happen to anyone - backup your files today, if you haven't already.  

Well it really was not as simple as ABC, although we did spend some time on all of the islands.  Four days of travel for four days of vacation in Bonaire!  Weather played the most significant part in our delayed flights. But hey, the islands are beautiful.  Enjoy the colors and textures of these images.

I welcome you to enjoy my images from my trip to Africa in 2022.  As you might expect, I photographed people.  There are some animals and some landscape but I fell in love the with faces and the country.
